jaclyn augustyn smith
Jaclyn Augustyn Smith achieved her BFA from the Ohio State University with a focus in Technology & Production, Performance, and Arts Management.
Jaclyn went on to conceive and operate the dance studio, CORE Academy of Movement from 2002-2022. The studio broke through traditional boundaries for private dance studios and was recognized for growth techniques and collaborations by a multitude of dance publications and organizations.
Her awards & achievements include a B.E.A award and a Telly, bronze, for her drive-in movie version of The Nutcracker in 2020. With the inception of a fitness program, Corevolution, Jaclyn has amassed professional certifications in the US and Germany in Pilates, Crossfit, Perinatal fitness and nutrition, and Functional Nutrition, in addition to Permaculture and Sustainable Living from Milkwood in Australia.
Her focus on biomechanics and injury prevention/recovery has opened up collaborations between her fitness program and fellow women's health providers including Lotus Core PT in Denver, CO, and she runs the veteran-focused GORUCK Dogs of South Jersey.
She has contributed to college degree programs that focus on Dance, and the business of Dance Studio Ownership. Jaclyn is the head choreographer for UPenn's historical theater club, Mask & Wig.
Smith works for Rhythm Works Integrative Dance® and Intellidance® as a certification evaluator. She volunteers as a Mentor for Private Sector Dance through NDEO, and functions as the nationwide emcee and adjudicator for i am DANCE under the direction of Brandon Porter.
Jaclyn is completing her Master's degree licensure from Rider in Clinical Psych with emphasis in Dance Movement Therapy, focusing primarily on military personnel and teenagers experiencing trauma, eating disorders, addiction and suicidal ideation.
